Burapha C & D.
1st Sean Murphy (21) 42 points
2nd Michael Brett (16) 38 points
3rd Rob Folland (19) 37 points
Near pins Kevin LaBar, Geoff Williams & Michael Brett
A beautiful day to start the week of golf with a game at Burapha on the C & D nines. As always the course was in top condition, however on several holes all the colours except for the red were on the same tee box, a number of new tees are being installed limiting the options for markers, even one had the black markers.
A nice steady round with no hold-ups so we finished in good time.
Scoring is rarely as good on C & D as it is on A & B as was the case again today, nevertheless scores were respectable if not spectacular apart from the winner, Sean Murphy who shot the lights out with forty-two points. After a disappointing front nine things improved for second placed Michael Brett with twenty-two on the back to take second place, one ahead of Rob Folland in third. Only three near pins taken as listed. This is becoming a bad habit lately, hopefully we can rectify that in coming games
With massive roadway construction going on, on the road to the course getting in and out is proving to be a challenge with heavy trafficin both directions down to one lane each way, no doubt when it’s finished it will be great, but for the next year at least there will be disruption, there is still much to do before it is completed.

Something remarkable happened this week in Thai golf. A Pattaya local playing at the Lam Luka course in Bangkok got not one but two holes in one on the competition course. Most golfers are lucky to have one hole in one in a lifetime of golf, this guy got two on the same day, he was a decent golfer though, off a six handicap. Holes in one have dried up at the Bunker lately having had a run of four in December/January with Alan Sullivan, Colin Greig, Sam Gershon, & Rob Folland all achieving the feat.
Today was a day to forget at the Bunker, Sean Murphy turned up five minutes late for departure time, Rob Folland went to the wrong course, and Tony Robbins quit after six holes with the dreaded shoulder problem. We wondered if things could get worse, and in true fashion they did. Scores today were embarrassing with only Les Cobban able to reach thirty points. Kevin LaBar was one worse on twenty-nine nine and a dreadful day with the putter confined Michael Brett to a lowly twenty-seven, three puts were the order of the day. We didn’t manage to rectify the near pin situation with only one taken today. Safe to say we were not at our best today, but there is always next time to do better.
Despite all our troubles it was nice to play Bangpra without any waiting, long may it last.

Hermes
1st Rob Folland (19) 38 points
2nd Geoff Williams (11) 33 points
3rd Uwe Jurgensen (29) 29 points
Near pins Geoff Williams, & Rob Folland.
The last game of the week was played at the quirky Hermes course. Another day when the weather gods smiled on us, the sky was black to the South East with continuous thunder rumbling and frequent lightning flashes, so it looked only a matter of time before we got hit, fortunately the wind was blowing in that direction so it stayed away.
The course was in excellent condition as usual but the wind coupled with the quirky holes made scoring difficult. Enjoying his nineteen handicap while it lasts Rob Folland made the best of it today with thirty-eight points, surely a cut is imminent. Playing solidly without scoring well Geoff Williams took second place with thirty-three points while Uwe Jurgensen brought up the rear with thirty-one. Sadly things are not improving in the near pin department with only two taken today as listed. We are hoping for a change of fortune next week although Treasure Hill is an unlikely place to find it.
Sean Murphy, winner at Burapha
Les Cobban, winner at Bangpra.
Winner at Hermes Rob Folland
