Treasure Hill
1st Les Cobban (12) 42 points
2nd Frazer Davy (11) 34 points
3rd Uwe Jurgensen (28) 34 points
Near pins Uwe Jurgensen, Frazer Davy & Les Cobban X 2.
Treasure Hill is normally considered one of the toughest if not the toughest course on our roster. Les Cobban made light of it today with a scintillating round of forty-two points off a slightly higher handicap than normal for him. This is the highest score we have seen at this course for a very long time, no doubt he will be back to his normal handicap immediately. A tight tussle for second place with Frazer Davy taking it on countback from Uwe Jurgensen, both with thirty- four points. Les Cobban dominated the near pins taking two with one each to Frazer Davy & Uwe Jurgensen.
Pattaya remains devoid of visitors and coupled with local absentees for a variety of reasons our numbers are low at present, we are hoping to see a few visitors shortly to boost our playing stocks..
We are fortunate to have rain at times that don’t affect our golf, hopefully it continues that way.
Wednesday, July 29th
Pattavia
1st Rob Folland (15) 42 points
2nd Frazer Davy (11) 38 points
3rd Michael Brett (16) 37 points
Near pins Alan Sullivan, & Les Cobban X 2.
To our great surprise we found the Pattavia course quite brown today although with plenty of grass, surprising given the rain we have had lately. The other surprise was how slow the greens were, particularly uphill into the grain, downhill they were almost as fast as ever.
We were fortunate again with the weather with only a few drops falling early in the round, later in the day it pelted down.
The high scores of recent games continued again today with another forty-two points by Rob Folland taking first place. Rob recently dropped his handicap from nineteen to fifteen, on current form he can afford to drop a few more strokes. Soon to depart for a month-long health retreat he will be a new man when he returns. Frazer Davy took second with thirty-eight points, one ahead of Michael Brett who edged out Les Cobban on countback. Only three of the four near pins were taken as listed

Greenwood A & B.
1st Rob Folland (15) 41 points
2nd Les Cobban (12) 35 points
3rd Alan Sullivan (17) 34 points
Near pins Frank Dartford and Michael Brett
Renovation work continues apace at Greenwood with much of the old clubhouse still to be finished. The C nine has had most if not all the fairways returfed and the greens surrounds recontoured, it feels like we will see a significant hike in pricing when it’s all completed. For the time being fifteen hundred baht all-in remains reasonable.
The course looked busy today with a big competition taking place, nevertheless we were able to get away ahead of our scheduled time on the B nine and finish without any delays.
With one point less than his Wednesday score Rob Folland took first place, it seems like he can do no wrong on the course lately with all parts of his game working well. A very mixed round from Les Cobban with a number of solid pars and two birdies mixed with a few blanks saw Les Cobban take second place with thirty-five points one ahead of Alan Sullivan in third. Only two near pins were taken, a very poor result.
Earlier this year Colin Greig set a new record score for golfer of the month which we thought would stand for a long time, this month Rob Folland equalled that record with a monthly total of two hundred and forty points, streets ahead of everyone else. Unfortunately Rob is out of the picture for the next month so cannot complete the threepeat.
Winner at Treasure Hill Les Cobban
Winner at Pattavia ang Greenwood and golfer of the month Rob Folland.
