The Olde Rogues took the short run up to Hermes for our mid-week match. The course was in good condition although some of the greens had been cored which made it difficult to gauge the speed as there was a big difference in the speed of the cored greens and the greens which hadn’t been cored. The difference in pace certainly didn’t bother Allan Smith as the big hitting Kiwi came home with 40 points which included a birdie 4 at the difficult par 5, 5th hole. It was Allan`s first game back since returning from New Zealand and it was another returning player, Will Windsor, who scored the only eagle of the day with his 3 at the par 5 4th hole. Russell Blatchford and Paul Kane are regulars on the podium and today was no different finished 2nd and 3rd.
