The Olde Rogues took 10 groups to Bang Pakong for our Phil Davies Memorial Day on what was a perfect day for a Pattaya golfing legend who was taken far too early. It was great to welcome back Brendan Kane, Rana Gurnam, Rob Withers, John Norlander as well as Rocky Jones and Tommy Marshall. Past champions, Russell Blatchford and Paul Tidy were also in attendance.
Indeed, it was a past champion who came good with Paul Tidy coming home with 42 points which equated to a 2 over par round and included 5 birdies. Mike Ehlert has been in good form recently and he just missed out with 41 points. Third place went to Maurie Denton with 40.
At the end of the day, its not about who came first or second, it was a day for remembering a long lost friend. Later in the evening, a good few of us went to The Links to meet old acquaintances and raise a toast. Many thanks to all and to Bang Pakong for hosting us.
