 EASTERN STAR

On Tuesday we played at Eastern Star. The morning was lightly overcast and pleasantly cool—perfect conditions for golf. Ten players gathered, energized after their morning coffee, ready for a good day on the course.

The course was in fine condition, promising strong results, but it turned out to be a challenging round with no one managing to play to their handicap. Allan Cassin emerged as the man of the day, edging ahead by just one point. He claimed victory with 32 Stableford points. John Dean secured runner-up with 31 points, narrowly beating Nigel Irvine and Tony Oakes on countback.

Peter Chai Tjai played to his UK handicap and, as a result, received the spoon.

Near pins: Bob Edwards, Mike Malott, and Nigel Irvine.

BANGPAKONG

On Thursday we made the long drive to Bangpakong, where we welcomed our Dutch friends Madeleine Sprik and Jan Groeneveld. It was another beautiful day—sometimes cloudy, sometimes sunny—with a refreshing cool breeze. The course was in immaculate condition and invited strong performances. Eleven players joined the competition.

This time, results were impressive: more than half the group played to their handicap or better. The standout was Steve Sturley, who delivered an excellent round with 42 Stableford points. Maurice Paradis followed closely as runner-up with 40 points.

Madeleine Sprik, still adjusting to the time difference, took home the spoon.

Near pins: Maurice Paradis (2), Peter Chai Tsai, and Willem Lasond
