The 4th and final round of The Olde Rogues Club Championship was held over A and B nines of Greenwood. Going into the final round, John Reps held a six-shot lead over Steve Mabbett with Mandy Trotter, John Coetzee, David Foster and Tony Browne being the main contenders for the other podium places.
It was always going to be a tough task to overhaul John Reps and although all the chasing back of the afore mentioned managed to peg back a shot or two by the turn, the back nine proved to be too difficult and John ran out a comfortable winner by 6 strokes. Steve Mabbett was the closest contender followed by David Foster. There has to be a special mention to Mandy Trotter who finished in a very creditable 5th position. Mandy was the only female to take part in the Championship and did the fair sex proud.
As for the normal competition, Stu Kidd headed `A` flight with 38, which was the best score of the day, with Lee Smith claiming top spot in `B` flight with 36 points.
The Olde Rogues would like to convey they’re thanks to all competitors as well as the staff at Pleasant Valley, Bang Pakong, Pattavia and Greenwood.
