PSC 137th Monthly Tournament at Treasure Hill
Wednesday 22nd October at Treasure Hill
For the 73 players it was ‘millionaire’s’ golf at Treasure Hill with no one else on the course until long after our last group had teed off. On this occasion it was a 1 tee start with the first groups’ away well ahead of their scheduled time.
The course was well presented and the weather was sunny and hot with a short sharp shower that soon went away.
It was the first time that PSC had their monthly tournament on a Wednesday as opposed to their usual Friday. Golf Chairman Mark West together with Peter Blackburn, Dick Warberg and Nigel Cannon arrived early to prepare for the players arrival, together with the TH staff who were on hand and helpful.
The first groups came in well under 4 hours and the remainders were around the 4 hour mark.
It was clear as the cards were returned that it was not going to be a high scoring day! However Paul Smith (3) came in with a 75 to win low gross for the second month in a row!

‘C’ Flight produced the best Stableford of the day from Douglas Jasper (27) with 39 points.

The presentation and prize giving was at the ever popular Lewiinski’s, where once again Colin and his team produced and excellent buffet and drink service appreciated by all.
Time for the Presentation and Nigel Cannon welcomed all and introduced Golf Chairman Mark West. Mark expressed his appreciation to today’s players and those who assisted him at the course and to Colin for the buffet, the PSC office staff for the pre-tournament work and Kit who sold the 50/50 lucky draw tickets.
Mark outlined his recent meetings with local courses endeavoring to obtain favorable rates for PSC members, he noted that voucher’s for Pattaya Country Club would be available shortly and that their new clubhouse should be open by the end of the year.
Before Nigel announced the prize winners he introduced the only Lady playing today Patsada Ryves (aka Sand) who is a caddy at green Valley. Sand has a handicap 14 – plays on the International Caddy Championship, that PSC support, with some success having come 2nd and 13th in recent competitions.
He went to introduce Freddy Starbeck who kindly donated 2 x 1000 baht vouchers for his D’ablo restaurant and acknowledging his ‘Ace’ last Sunday at Green Valley and popular Aussie Bob Watson celebrating his birthday.
