Tuesday The 6th April 2014: Khao Kheow ( Stableford)
So into the ‘Low Season’ and all is well!!. I thought by this time with all the ‘High Season ‘ regulars back in their home towns, I would be able to go back into semi retirement. However this is Khao Kheow and the week before the dreaded week+ of getting soaked in Pattaya as you brave a walk out.
So having declared that we would not play for the Songkran full period I suppose I should have expected a good turnout, and we got one. So as usual into cars and on our way. It is always a good drive up there as it is simply in cars and up route 7, quite simple really, but some have been known to miss the turning, but not on this occasion, all arrived on time.
B Nine is having a month off, so we were to play the C & A Nines on what appeared a quiet day on the Course. So off we went on the C and as usual a ball in the water. Good start but the Course was as usual in fine condition, it usually is. There was a bit of a wind on the day, but it was also really hot and the walkers struggled to get around, as indeed did some of those in carts. Great day on the Course and well enjoyed by all the players.
The Restaurant has a great view and the food and the service is really good, the only problem is that there is not a lift up to it. After a hard day on the Course that walk up the steps can be really hard. Still the view and the ambience is well worth it. Mind when you stiffen up the walk down the steps can be just as bad. Soon it was time to go back to Pattaya.
The results were soon ready and with Mashi getting back on time we were soon underway. In the A Flight, 0 to 18, the winner with a fine 39 points was John Davis ahead of Maurice Roberts in second with 37 points and Tom Herrington third with 35 points on countback over Gerd Riedlar. In the B Flight the winner was Barry Oats with 40 points ahead of Rita Zoebeli in second with 36 points and Jim Ferris in third with 34 points. TTFN
