Tuesday The 2nd June 2015: Khao Kheow ( Stableford)
This was a funny day as it was the day after a Holiday and many of the Groups who usually played on a Monday were playing on a Tuesday, so a few were playing with other Groups who were going to Courses they preferred.
Quite how other Courses are better I have no idea, Khao Kheow is a great Course, however it is a tough Course and I suppose you can find some a little cheaper. Still, we still had a reasonable number who met at BJ’s and after a spot to eat and a cuppa, jumped in cars and away we went.
A good morning drive up there saw us at the first tee in good time. The test for the day was to be the B & C Nines and pretty much on time away we went. It was a funny day, sort of overcast but still very warm, and the Course was a bit of a conundrum being wet is some places and very dry in other and despite this we did not seem to get much run on the ball.
The Course was not in bad condition though with fairly good fairways and greens that were a bit slow, we all know about how difficult this Course is so no need to say, but I did go through quite a few balls. Still an enjoyable round and most players got back to the changing room tired out,
Soon through the shower, into the Restaurant and a quick trip back to BJ’s. Then we were able to have the results a little early. The winner on the day was Henry Wong with 43 points ahead of Brian Parish with 37 points in second and a countback on 36 points saw Sunny Khanna in third and Derek Brook in fourth. Then time to relax, T.T.F.N.
