Tropical Golf 25/08
Tuesday The 25th August 2015: Phoenix ( Stableford) So off we go again to Phoenix, and while this Course is not one of our favourites these days, we do go along to play it sometimes. On this day we had a fair turnout and we were soon on our way. One good thing about Phoenix is that we can always book in quickly. So we did and were soon on the first tee.
The test for the day was to be the Mountain and Ocean Nines. So off we went, Over all the Course was not too bad, the greens were hard and pretty quick but the fairways were spotty and dry. I suppose that at this time of the year the condition is not a surprise, so we soldiered on. All in all it was a good day.
A quick shower and then we were back to BJ’s for an early presentation. We do not hang around as the roads get busy as we near late afternoon. Then into the presentation.
In the A Flight, 0 to 17, the winner was Andre Van Dyk with 37 points ahead of Maurice Roberts in second with 36 points. We then had a countback on 35 points that saw Mashi Kaneta in third with Mark West and Takeshi Hakozaki just missing out.
In the B Flight the winner was Mick Coghlan with a fine 40 points ahead of Kenny Chung in second with 36 points. We then had a countback on 35 points that saw Gordon Clegg in third with Don Carmody just missing out.
This was also the end of the month and so it was time for the MBMG Golfer of the Month. With his fine win on the day, the Winner of The MBMG Golfer of the Month was Mick Coghlan. Well Done.
Probably one of the ‘Highlights of The Day’ was Mashi Kaneta who had a Hole in One. T.T.F.N.
