Stewart’s shoulder tapping victory!
A fantastic field of 30 spritely golfers gathered for the Growling Swan, September Monthly Mug event. Warm welcomes were extended to Rob Cross, Peter McDonald, Rocky Lawson, Peter Grant, Wayne Harman and Doc Vale. On the buses, all things golf were discussed and comic relief provided by Kevin Waycott who pledged to never again drink alcohol the night before golf.
On course, the weather was perfect and the recent rains have greatly improved the golf course, however, the back nine was severely cored and proved to be a putting raffle. We played off the white tees.
Steve Jones and Ron Gillett enjoyed resounding wins in their respective grades, but it was the sublime skills of our 2 handicapper, Chris Stewart who earned the right to tap shoulders to fill his mug with victory refreshments.
John Anderson expertly scanned the scorecards and on a packed leaderboard, the highly excited Stuart Rifkin and Peter Grey snuck in to enjoy podium finishes.

Back at the Growling Swan, charity dog ‘Deefa’ gratefully received significant donations from many and they are thanked for their continued contributions. All ‘Deefa’ donations go to the PSC to be directed to projects to assist the needy children of Pattaya.
Peter Grey farewelled Chris Stewart, Fez Durigan, Steve Jones and Alan Nolan, then announced the winners with great mirth. A great time was had by all!
For some serious golf with a dash of fun, come on down to The Growling Swan on Mondays and Thursdays!
