Pattavia C.C. – 28th May 2015

With Nerves of Steele! Denis Steeles the Mug!

As it Goes.

Today is our Monthly Mug Day sponsored by Asia Backpackers, thanks for the day Peter Bass and Co.

Twenty punters headed out to the pineapple plantation better known as Pattavia C.C.

What a great surprise to see that they had fixed the entrance road,  excitement filled the bus, reminded me of when we got running water back at the farm! We had a very enthusiastic group of Golfers for today’s challenge.

Welcomes were handed out to Terry Linklater from Queensland Aust. And with no one departing we had no need to bid farewell.

Pleasant playing conditions were the order of the day but as usual the green played as they always do rather tricky. For the few of us who cannot read greens very tricky indeed. A nice breeze stayed with us for most of the day keeping conditions comfortable.

Denis Steele took out the monthly mug closely followed by Sal Brizzi (who shot 1 over for the day) with Ebrahim coming in 3rd to finish off A Flight.

Lindsey Slender won B Flight on a count back from John Anderson (who was giving the game away 2 weeks ago) with Ernie Picken taking out 3rd place.

Special mention to Peter Bass who Eagled the par 5 18th, well done Pete a great effort yet again you had a good incentive!

Near pins were won by Peter Grey on the fourth, Denis Steele on the seventh, and Ebrahim on holes thirteen and seventeen.

Long first putts went to Andrew Allen on the ninth and Sal Brizzi eighteenth.

The Peter Grey NAGA went to the person that it was named after, Peter Grey who is one off the golfers referred to as in not being able to read a green. Collected a near pin (hole 4 par 3) only then to 3 putt for a bogey!

Once again Deefa collected many donations for the needy children of Pattaya.

The GS is a friendly golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers male and female to have a hit at any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested on 0861 503086.

The Growling Swan also caters to the bowls enthusiasts. Bus transport departs the GS on Wednesdays at 10 AM to play at Cocos on undercover synthetic greens and on Sundays at the same time for open grass bowling at The Retreat. Please contact Paul Rennison on 0843 454005 if you wish to partake. The cost including return bus transport, bowling fees and a hot lunch is less than 400 baht so great value for a day out.
