The Growling Swan 25/02

Crystal Bay – 25th of Feb. 2016.
By James Olsen.
Roy “Plumbs” Dayton Makes it Mug No. 5!

Three busloads of eager golfers gathered today to test their skill at the Bay, 27 players in all. The weather was great with a nice breeze in attendance and the course in good condition, and the greens were quite difficult on both nines. We took up the challenge from the White Tees on Courses B & A. This is the first time in 2 years that we have taken on the B course and we were not disappointed. What a great 9 this scribe had forgotten just how good it was.
On the buses Gerri kept mentioning that now that Jockey had gone home he now has more money to do things! The banter was as per normal “Go big or go home.” Rumor has it there was a game going on within the game, Lefties v righties.
Two Divisions were the order of the day with Pierre Cere taking out Div 1 from Steve Younger with the narrowest of margins. Division 2 went to today’s Monthly Mug winner Roy Dayton with a very good score of net 66 leaving Daylight between he and the other punters. Dave Fletcher came in second six shots behind the leader.
