RIP – TONY OLCORN.

Thirty Two golfers headed out to tackle The Big Navy Course, 4 ball Ambrose was what we were to play to mark the anniversary of the passing of Tony Olcorn. It would be remiss of me not to mention the fact that 9 had travelled from Queensland to take part in this event. They were: Allan Upington, Wayne Johnson, Mike Seaton, Alan Evans, Jason Grainger, Aaron Shorten, David Marshall, Alf Bugden and Mike McKeknie. A fantastic turn out by you guys and one hopes we will see you all again next year. A mention also to Khan and John who when being told we needed numbers they came to the rescue, also Paul Jackson who was to pull out with a bad back.
After a minutes silence we went to battle. Playing North/West courses we were troubled by a little rain early in the day but it did not last too long, once it cleared we were in for a good day on a great course. Fairways had run and the greens played a little slow but generally true.
A great day was had by all returning to the Swan the beer was cold and flowing as were the stories. I have to admit that the day got to me and I was tucked up in bed by about 8.30.
