The Growling Swan 12/11

Comrade Fred Back from the USSR to take the Rubels!
Well it was to be 21 eager starters to take the buses up the highway to tackle Greenwood CC Golf Course. Unfortunatley two that were to meet us there, traveling in the car did not make it on time. They played a 2 ball and did not feature in today’s competition!
On the buses the usual suspects were predicting as they do every time we venture out, it is a vast different trip home with most of the punters taking the time to lament the days outing. This is a very funny game, it can do your head in!
We played C & B nines, off the yellow tees and although at 6,100 yards, a little short for some, and as always the tricky par 5’s sorted most out. Scores were good on the day but this is a course that sorts out a lot of golfers. The course was in good nick with the greens playing true. Weather was also good to us, a bit of a breeze would have been good as it did get hotter as the day got longer.
Fred Cuypers fresh from his return from Russia showed that he meant business from the outset, Peter bye came in second being beaten by the narrowest of margins. The next three placing’s needed a count back to sort out Eric Black, Sandy Leiper and new comer Henry Lowe.

1st Fred Cuypers (16) 38 pts
2nd Peter Bye (14) 37 pts
3rd Eric Black (14) 36 pts
4th Sandy Leiper (31) 36 pts
C3 Roger Rees
C6 Henry Loh
B2 Roger Rees
B5 Sal Brizzi
Longest One Putt:
C9 John Anderson
B9 Henry Loh
Back at the Growling Swan we welcomed Henry Loh, David Lowe and welcomed back Roger Rees. We the farewelled The Judge, Peter Bye and Steve younger all are heading back to Australia. We all wish you a fond farewell and we hope to see you all again real soon. Travel Safe!
The Viper paraded charity dog ‘Deefa’ who gratefully received significant donations from the happy clan and they are thanked for their continued contributions. All ‘Deefa’ donations go to the PSC to be directed to projects to assist the needy children of Pattaya.
