SILKY OAK COUNTRY CLUB

A STANDING OVATION AS JJ IS WELCOMED BACK!
ANDREW TURTLE ALLEN REAPS THE REWARDS WITH A WIN OVER IBBY!

Today’s outing to Silky Oaks GC attracted 21 golfers all full of enthusiasm, and dare I say it, optimism.

Overcast conditions prevailed all day and although rain threatened us all day we managed to stay dry and play in superb golfing weather.

This reporter was not on the public transport supplied by The Growling Swan so you will have to forgo the usual banter that goes with the journey. Suffice it to say there was the hung over and the usual serious crowd that adorn the podium every week.

Stu Rifkin was informed on 1st tee by his caddy no out of bounds for 18 holes. However she forgot to tell him there was water in front. Then there were two gents with short memories Bernie ( 40 points ) and Ebrahim (42 points) “I WILL NEVER PLAY HERE AGAIN”. Short memories indeed!

This course is a work in progress at present but most if not all (excluding one gentleman first timer with figures of 10 and 14 points 24 total) seem to enjoy the experience. Anyway a brave effort to top the podium by stalwart supporter Ebrahim came up short only by countback with Andrew Turtle Allen winning on countback with 42 points. The recently arrived Graham Rice booked 3rd with 41 please read below for the full results.
