Bob Signs Off With 2 2nds
Pleasant Valley was the venue for Tuesday’s game, under clear skies with a light breeze to lessen the humidity. The course was in generally good order, although a tad over watered in some places, which neccessitated casual water relief. We were joined today by 1 of Pattaya’s characters, the Bike Man, Rick Bevington, with mates Paul Taylor & Stefan Hoge. Rick does a power of good work for kids in the area, & is worthy of support, so when next we see him SCR will be making a donation for his “Bikes for Tykes” Project. Anyone else feeling benevolent could do a lot worse than help Rick in his endeavours. Back to the golf, and it was Jeff Wylie (8) scoring 38 points to lead the way home, while Bob Edwards (8) was a point behind. NTPs went to Jeff, Rick, Stefan & Jonathan.
Thursday saw us travel down to Plutaluang, with the East & South combination being our test of the day. The course was in good order, although the course is quite dry in some areas of the fairways, with greens on the slow side, when compared to some of the other local courses. Jonathan Pratt (11) showed some return to form to lead the way with 35 points, after a stellar front 9 of 21 points, while Bob Edwards (8) rallied with a couple of late birdies to shoot 33 points, and edge Tom on countback 17/16. NTPs went to Jeff with both on the East course, while Neil & Willie shared the South course’s.
Siam Country Resort, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 metres, with the venue on the left another 200 metres along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days. As a PSC affiliated venue we welcome ALL golfers, including Ladies & Seniors (>60s) who have opted for the “Silver” tee option. Call 0890941841 for scheduling or enquiries.
Hope to see you there, cheers & good golfing.
