SIAM Country Resort 11/02 & 13/02

Firstly to Tuesday, when we visited Khao Kheow, with the A & B combination as our test of the day. Personally I consider this to be the best combo, but having said that, the C loop has it’s attractions too. The weather was perfect for good golf, with the course in very good condition, perhaps the best I have seen for 2 years or so. Leading the way today was Jeff Wylie (7) with a score of 36 points, while in 2nd spot was Paddy Devereux (22) with 32. NTPs were spread around between Bob, Tom & Willem.

Headliner Joel Flor (23) had an outstanding front 9 of 23 points on the East course at Plutaluang before finishing on the South with 15, for a solid, and by far the best score of the day (38 for the arithmetically challenged). The course was in decent nick, although it is getting a bit dry & hard on the fairways, while the greens are being left on the slow side to avoid stressing them from the heavy foot traffic. 2nd spot went to Jim Federspiel (18) with a modest 33 points, 1 ahead of Bob Edwards who stood on the 17th tee with 32 points, but marked time with 2 wipes. Bob made up for that by cleaning up with 3 NTPs, while winner Joel got the other.
Siam Country Resort, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 metres, with the venue on the left another 200 metres along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days. As a PSC affiliated venue we welcome ALL golfers, including Ladies & Seniors (>60s) who have opted for the “Silver” tee option. Call 0890941841 for scheduling or enquiries.

Hope to see you there, cheers & good golfing.
