Alain and Roger lead the way
A bumper field of twenty eight golfers gathered in Soi Chaiyapoon looking forward to another enjoyable day.
The outward journey only took forty one minutes which was you bewt.

Pre game change room chatter included comments re the upheaval in Australian politics and the possible change of Prime Minister.
This prompted Buckers to comment “there are people who laugh about hair restoration yet believe in election promises”.
Welcomes were handed out to Paul Garvey from Ireland, Paul Moloney from Pattaya, Lyndon Przybylski, Australia and Bernie Stafford and Richard Hurley from England.
J.J.Harney was farewelled returning to Ireland.
The weather was great with a cooling breeze in attendance.

The fairways hadn’t seen the business end of a lawn mower in yonks and the bunkers looked like they’d been traversed by a caravan of dromedaries.
Fortunately the pin placements were humane and the greens putted truly.
The white markers were the order of the day and the round only took four hours and twenty one minutes.
In the A grade Alain Taddei handed in a great forty three points to take top honours.
Peter Bye commented “if you thought Bridget Bardot’s face has done a million miles you should see my golf swing”, scored forty two points to take second place whilst Don Richardson on forty one and Richard Hurley thirty nine rounded out the podium.
Roger Ellis showed the B grade a clean pair of heels with a stylish forty three points and John Anderson hopped into second place on forty.
Third on thirty eight was Rita Zoebeli whilst Alan “Colonel” Sanders with thirty seven points propped up the placegetters.
Jayson Schembri one putted the par five fifteenth for an eagle and five points. He was the recipient of a kind smile and our warmest congratulations.

Long first putts were won by Peter Grey on the 9th and John Swanson 18th.
Near pins went to Alain Taddei 5th, Richard Hurley 8th, Jayson Schembri 13th and John Davis 17th.
J.C.Lhoste commented that his game is to golf what the Bay City Rollers were to music and The Coveted Compass Cap complimented his wardrobe, admirably.

Deefa the resident canine whose appetite would have seen him devour a sheep stuffed with rabbits gratefully accepted all donations with a relish not seen since Joseph Jaggers broke the Bank at Monte Carlo.
The GS is a friendly golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers male or female to have a hit at any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested on 0861 503086.

The Growling Swan also caters to the bowls enthusiasts. Bus transport departs the GS on Wednesdays at 10 AM to play at Cocos on undercover synthetic greens and on Sundays at the same time for open grass bowling at The Retreat. Please contact Paul Rennison on 0843 454005 if you wish to partake. The cost including return bus transport, bowling fees and a hot lunch is less than 400 baht so great value for a day out.
