P.S.C 19th Charity Classic 2015
PSC Annual Charity Classic
19th Pattaya Sports Club 2015 Charity Classic
@ Burapha Golf Resort
The 19th year of the eagerly awaited Pattaya Sports Club Charity Classic Tournament was held on 18 March 2015 at the Burapha Golf Resort. This event takes weeks of planning and preparation and the Golf Chairman, Mark West, worked very hard to make this a most successful event which, judging by the comments of those playing he succeeded big time. The competition was a 2 Person Better Ball Stableford event with prizes on every hole and prizes for the top 10 pairs. It wasn’t long after the official announcement that the list was full and Mark had to increase the field to 184 and yet there was still a sizeable waiting list. In addition to prizes being awarded on every hole, there was a raffle with many prizes which included green fees for 4 people from the EGA golf courses, golf clubs from Pattaya City Golf including a Callaway Big Bertha “V” Series 10.5 Degree Driver, Lynx Silvercat UT21 Degree Hybrid, Tiger Shark Putter and a “Putter with no name”. Also a Golf Carry Bag from Pattana Golf Club, a 1 Year Membership at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, Cambodia trip to the Angkor Hotel & Golf Resort with 2 night’s stay for 2 people plus 2 rounds of golf each plus many more and a 60/40 split for the final raffle ticket drawn.
Three signed flags from different famous professionals were auctioned which raised 14,000 baht, a big thank you to Gordon Duncan from Petroedge Asia for the winning bid of 10,000 baht for the Darren Clarke signed flag and Photo of his winning Open Championship. Another big thank you to go’s to Gordon for generously donating the pens used for the card scoring at the tournament.
Singha Corp came through once again with tremendous support for this event and provided Sanvo Sports energy drinks to everyone prior to teeing off as well as providing golf and shoe bags to the winners and umbrellas to the other top 10 winners. The Presentations were held at Tavern By The Sea at The Amari on the following evening where a tremendous buffet was provided. Mike, the General Manger of Burapha, presented the A & B nines in pristine condition and as President of the EGA along with his very efficient staff also helped to make this a most outstanding event. In near perfect golfing weather the overall scores were very good.
Another great supporter of this event was Chris Balzli of Sinto Shirts who provided 150 shirts free of charge.
President Peter Malholtra commenced the announcements by thanking all who had participated in the day and also of course the Sponsors and helpers. He then presented a cheque for 100,000 baht to Mike, President of the EGA for the EGA Caddy Programme and then made a special presentation to Kit, a 10 year employee at PSC who will shortly be leaving and will be sorely missed.
Mark also thanked all who participated in the day’s tournament with a special thanks to the support of all the sponsors who were as follows:
