Laem Chabang 20th August, 2013
Course A Mountain and Course B Lake, white tees
Laem Chabang is a Jack Nicholas designed course. Usually Big Jack’s courses can be as difficult as you wish to make them, depending on choice of tee colour. We played the white tees and that suited the standard of players today.
We welcomed a few new faces today, Max hcp 24, Bill hcp 7 and Eddy hcp 13. Welcome aboard boys and hope to see more of you both in the future.
As expected course was in great condition, fairways lush, greens quick (about 3 greens were a different pace to the remainder), and long but light rough.
Results for the day. Well, there were some big numbers posted today, myself included. Best was Eddy with a gross 87 closely followed by Bruce with an 89. Good work guys.
Two players, our lowest handicap markers, had a case of the shanks today, me being one of them. Just such a frustrating thing and once your in the groove, every thought is “SHANK”. I hope for the two of us it doesn’t continue. Any pro golfers out there that may want to give me a tip, or a fully loaded gun, assistance will be appreciated. Facebook page Irovers golf for contact.
Where’s Bruce moment of the day. Standing on the 18th tee box waiting to hit off, Bruce once again was sighting with his distance finder in the wrong direction. Everyone including Bruce had a good old laugh at that. Once Bruce has had a couple of cans his play slows down quite a bit as anyone that has played with Bruce can attest to. But he generally hits pretty good shots after his preparation, so fair play. Pleasure playing with you again Bruce and I enjoyed your sense of humour.
Emerald tomorrow. Contact me for details. Possibly stopping for refreshments on the way back at The Camel and other assorted bars. ;-)
