I-rovers 01/08

1st August, 2013
Phutaluang Navy Golf Course
Stroke North and West white tees

I think I’ve said this before, but I’ve played Navy a lot over the last three years. It has to be in the best condition currently that I’ve ever seen it. Greens are still slow, North and West running about 6.5, but not painfully slow like they used to be, fairways in good condition and overall for the size of the course, good condition.

I hear many players and that includes many of our regulars, say they hate Navy. Why? The answer is usually comes from the high scores I think haha. Trees in the middle of the fairway, too many water carries, too many trees, too many lost balls. They may be some of the cons buts the pros are many including the great price. I love Navy and will continue to book there. Every time we go there we have a laugh with some of the funniest caddies around.

Not a bad turnout today, had a few new boys which was good to see. Some big scores as per my earlier comments, but had some good scores too. Congratulations and well played to Gary Bolger, 86 gross around Navy is a good score. Gary plays off about 18 hcp waiting his official PSC handicap to come in. Recently the best his had is 26 over, so a massive turnaround today. That should give you a decent handicap, welcome to the low teens mate.

We had Gerry and Mario join us today. Nice guys from Australia. Both guys had a great laugh but by the end of 18 holes, they were looking for a rest. With those scores guys, you’ll soon get a call up for the Australian cricket side haha

Thanks to all for a good day. Phoenix on Tuesday, call into the bar or facebook.com/irovers golf for bookings.

Happy golfing
