Growling Swan 6/11
PHOENIX GC – 6th November 2017
“THE SHOOTER IS BACK IN TOWN” Bill McGarvie well done!
It was sixteen golfers that chose to take a crack at the fabulous Phoenix Golf Course. Such a delightful course with staff to match. A vast improvement as to what it was 2 or 3 years ago.
Playing off the White Tees we took on Courses Lake and Ocean in that order. For those who are not aware there are 3 nines at Phoenix which gives them a chance to rest a nine and bring it back up to the standard that we have grown accustom to! As always the course was in great nick.
The weather Gods smiled upon us but as the day got longer it did warm up quite a bit. No rain in sight and a clear fairway in front of us so once again, Game on!
With the numbers down we only played the one flight but kept all novelties going.
It was Bill Shooter McGarvie that set the game alight, as one golfer said to me he may not be able to see his ball but it’s never hard to find when you hit it straight down the middle. Bill returned a very good score of 40 points. Breathing right down his neck was Darren Slade and Alex Field, who again had to go to the count back to sort out placing’s. Colm Mullen, obviously with no jetlag problems took out fourth placing on the podium.
1ST – Bill McGarvie (12) 40 pts
