Growling Swan 14/1

RICE, FIELD and ANDERSON’s day out!
35 golfers and 4 buses headed out today for our Crystal Bay challenge. Greetings were handed out to Dave Fletcher, Bob Watson, Brad Robins, Glenn & Garry Williams.
It seems an internal competition of gastronomical delicacies is gathering momentum at the Growling Swan. Stu Rifkin, Peter Grey and Graham Rice are trying to outdo each other in lunch roll making with lamb, prawns and hollandaise sauce being some of the treats on the menu today.
The weather was the stock standard sultry for our 8 groups We played off the white tees, C and A Nines in that order (A nine was used for the count-backs). The course was in good nick and generally held sway against the field, except for a merry threesome.
Frankie Sharratt’s swing coach Karen, advised him when he headed out this morning, to “never try to keep more than 300 separate thoughts in your mind during your swing”. Frankie never listened!
Also at one point Jason Schembri pointed out to Mike Gosden, when your shot has to carry over a water hazard, you can either hit one more club, or two more balls. Mike never listened!
Graham Rice continued with his recent form and enjoyed a ‘day out’ of consistent golf to snare a win alongside Alex Field and John Anderson in their respective grades. Alex obviously enjoys this course, registering 40 pts for a second time in recent weeks. Other bouquet performances were provided by Piere Cere and Fred Cypers, whilst. Frank Waterhouse, Brad Robins and Patrick Poussier were delighted with podium finishes for their modest returns.
