GROWLING SWAN GOLF – STABLEFORD

EASTERN STAR – GC – 11TH MAY 2015

Denis steals the show

The Drut

Seventeen starters gathered today at headquarters anticipating the day’s challenges.

Welcomes were handed out to Ban Chang resident Denis Steele and Pattaya’s John Swanson, Kurt- Eric Persson and Seesa Phompimon.

The weather was quite warm with a cool breeze affording some welcome relief.

The greens were in superb condition, however very slow and you know a course is dry when the trees start bribing dogs.

Even from the forward yellow tees only two players were able to beat their handicap with Denis Steele scoring a splendid thirty nine points to stand atop the podium.

In second place and with the biggest reversal in form since Jamie Oliver went from putting icing on the scones in mum’s kitchen to a leading world chef, John Anderson handed in thirty seven points.

Third was Jim Groves with thirty four points, edging out Mike Gosden on the same score.
