The Golf Club 12/6
Monday 12th – Pattana A & C – Stableford – Yellow Tees
1st – Kenny Aihara (6) 43 points
2nd – Greg Limond (9) 40 points
3rd – Kris Kritsanajootra (7) 39 points
First off, a heads up for the 4th of July. We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Golf Club and have our annual 4-man Rainbow Scramble at St. Andrews on July 4th with our tournament and a very special party back at TGC after the round. Please join us for this trip down memory lane!
Off we went to test Pattana today as Green Valley is still having maintenance issues with coring and sanding. Pattana was a lovely course and in very good nick for our gathering.
Our buddy Kris K. was in town and red hot for third place, finding Greg Limond one better with 40 points for second. Aidrian Dembinski met us at the course and proceeded to take the near pin loot.
Kenny Aihara shot his best ever round this trip and a one under off the stick gives him 43 points on the card, a great score for our great mate. Kenny is winding down his annual 6 month visit and will soon be back to Japan for the summer. Maybe the Asian Tour for 2018?
Tuesday 13th – Phoenix Gold – PSC Members Monthly
The full report is on the PSC website, but we must give congratulations to our own Peter Thomas who won his flight with a brilliant 40 point round! See you all at the Summer Party on the 5th of July!
Thursday 15th – Khao Kheow – Stableford – White Tees
1st – Kenny Aihara (6) 35 points
2nd – David O’Brien (9) 34 points
3rd – Mark Wood (9) 33 points
This is our second trip to Khao Kheow this month and everyone agrees that this course has been the most enjoyable and consistent in Pattaya this summer. We have booked here 3 times this month as the quality and pricing are hard to beat, and the turnout is always full.
There was modest scoring here today, but for his final round in Pattaya for the summer, Kenny Aihara finished on a high and edged out both David O’Brien and Mark Wood for the win here today. Great shooting Kenny, and see you November 10th after your mother’s birthday!
Friday 16th – Emerald – Stableford – White Tees
1st – Richard Griffin (4) 40 points
2nd – Robbie Taylor (14) 38 points
T-3rd – Greg Limond (9) 36 points
T-3rd – David O’Brien (10) 36 points
It’s funny how so many guys playing the same course walk off the 18th with such varied opinions of the condition of the course. Obviously, it couldn’t have been that bad with scores as above on the card! It seems the greens were on fluffy and slow side, would there have been more complaints if they had been too fast?
In any event, we got round in four hours, the weather was just fine and just another great day of golf in Pattaya. Apparently, they did not have our booking so the lads were instructed to start off the 10th tee, which actually worked out to the better.
Richard Griffin was the star of the show today as not being content with 40 points and the win, he had to rub it in and take the Caddy Smile near pin as well! Nice going mate, I guess those bumpy greens were an improvement to your game?
Thanks for your support guys, and keep it in the fairway!
