KUBICKI’S DOUBLE THE DOUBLE WIN
Thursday 28th March 2013 saw a small, but elite band of golfers head off to a steamy Treasure Hill, where we were met by a virtually empty course.
We tee’d off half an hour early and most groups played millionaires golf, having no-one in front or behind them. As a result the round was a spritely 4 hours and 15 minutes. The course, as always this year, was in superb condition with the greens demanding respect at a stimp reading of 10.
Back at the club house announcements started with the very sad news that Boon, the Cafe Kronborgs long time mini bus driver, had passed away on Monday night. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. Most of us have fond memories of Boon’s ingenious driving skills, making extra traffic lanes where there weren’t any and making straight on arrows bend into right turns. He will be sadly missed.
Farewells were said to people leaving Pattaya to escape the craziness of Songkran, including The Kubicki’s, Arne Max Pedersen, Lotte Boskov, Leif Kirkegaard and Elias Magnusson.
There were two flights, 0 to 17 and 18 and above with 3 places in each.
A flight was won by Richard Kubicki with the score of the day, 40 points. In second place was Arne Max Pedersen with 31 points and in third was Lotte Boskov with 29 points, beating Niels Hansen on countback.
B flight was won by Carole Kubicki with 33 points. In second place was Elias Magnusson with 31 points and third was Mike Winfield with 30 points.
So the Kubicki’s managed to do the A & B flight double win for the second time this week. Those that know them are not surprised, because they know this kind of form always comes at the end of their trip.
Due to the Songkran Holidays the next golf from the Cafe Kronborg will be on Monday 22nd April 2013, where we head off to Bangpra.
