New Charity Initiative
Trying to find worthwhile Charity projects takes a lot of time and effort and Charity Chairperson Noi Emmerson has found what we believe to be a great initiative that has some great benefits. Vision Care will be an ongoing project to help the needy, mainly children who can’t afford eye care to be able to see more clearly.
The project has enabled us to have a single point of contact whereby our Vision Care specialist will visit schools or organized groups and perform eye tests and where necessary make prescription glasses. By utilizing a single point provider the costs are kept to a minimum. On average for 400 baht a child gets an eye examination and is provided with prescription glasses and a case.
The first project was done at Baan Chang School where eye tests were performed and those needing glasses had them made. It was great to see a charity initiative like this do so much for so many. On the presentation day committee members presented 162 children with prescription glasses. A few kids probably got shocks when they could see clearly, many for the first time in years.
Noi Emerson Charity Chairperson was as always in attendance with Secretary George Benison, Golf Chairman Maurice Roberts, Social Chairman Dick Walberg and Public Relations Chairman Andre Van Dyk.
