Stroke events which are notoriously difficult had the head greenkeeper salivating like a cannibal watching short sighted plump missionaries disembarking from a canoe, as he observed our efforts to conquer his battleground.
We welcomed Volker Buley from Germany and Nolan Wise from Australia.
Bob Akapita headed off to Cambodia to assist in reducing their deficit by injecting some sponderoolies into the economy.
Pre game change room chatter included Wayco who had eye surgical procedures recently, advising he could set a course record however wasn’t sure at which end.
A bumper field of thirty six punters faced the starter who sent us on our way playing the B and C nines in that order.
The wind was so strong on the first nine it blew the pricks off the perimeter barb wire fence. It abated somewhat on the flip side.
The course was in good condition with the greens as smooth as a crimpiline suit, however downhill putts were quicker than Aussie foreplay.
Patrick Poussier playing great golf in the conditions won the monthly mug shooting ninety off the rod which from his twenty three handicap equated to a nett sixty seven.
In the A grade Sal Brizzi continued his good form with a nett seventy one. Mike Gosden handed in a seventy two whilst Kevin Waycott was absolutely delighted to have a gross score of 41/42 = 83 and a nett seventy four to take third place. His previous stroke round was a world war two score,out in 39 and back in 45. Don Richardson was fourth with a nett seventy six.
In B grade Alain Taddei showed the way on nett seventy three closely followed by Mashi Kaneta on seventy four. Fred Cuypers and Rita Zobeli both with nett seventy seven made the podium.
In the C grade, despite staggering down the stretch like a Soi six sot, John Anderson handed in nett seventy two to take first place which included a no lakey five putt nine on the last hole. Nolan Wise with nett seventy three and Mark Henkel and Thomas Cotton on seventy four rounded it out.

Long first putts were won by Dave Fletcher on B9 and Mike Gosden on C9.
The Coveted Compass Cap was snavelled by Martin Kempton who commented “I didn’t play golf,it was more like an adventure” and his nett 95 confirmed same.
Deefa accepted many donations from the generous punters and their assistance in helping the needy children of Pattaya is appreciated.
