The Growling Swan 08/12

Mountain Shadow – 8th of December 2014
Jimmy Olsen

Early start with the scorers needing to cypher Fred’s score.
I personally did not venture out today however my spies kept me informed with the happenings on the day.
Despite an early tee time, the core died in the wool saddled up for yet another adventure.
The course was in great nick and the greens putted truly.
There was only one welcome which may very well turn into a farewell as big Graham Rice threw his shoulder out which forced him to take an early shower.

Good luck Graham, let’s hope that it’s not too long till you’re back.
We ran with one division only and the following podium places.
1st Fred Cuypers ( 16 ) 35 points
2nd Ebrahim Al-Ansari ( 13 ) 33 points
3rd Sandy Leiper ( 33 ) 32 points
Near pins went to Don Richardson on the fifth hole and Fred Cuypers on fifteen.
Long first putt on eighteen went to John Anderson.

As mentioned, the Compass Cap was awarded to Graham Rice who unfortunately wasn’t able to complete the course.
Deefa the dog as usual was let out of his kennel to accept donations and thanks go to the contributers.
For those who are unaware, all monies collected by Deefa go to charity!
The GS is a friendly golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers male or female to have a hit at any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested on 0861 503086.
The Growling Swan also caters to the bowls enthusiasts. Bus transport departs the GS on Wednesdays at 10 AM to play at Cocos on undercover synthetic greens and on Sundays at the same time for open grass bowling at The Retreat. Please contact Paul Rennison on 0843 454005 if you wish to partake. The cost including return bus transport, bowling fees and a hot lunch is less than 400 baht so great value for a day out
