Siam Country Resort 11/11
Jim’s Mates Show the Way
Greenwood was the chosen venue for Tuesday’s game, with the A & B combination from the Whites, at just under 6500 yards, our test of the day. The course was in overall good condition, which combined with clear skies, made for a good day for golf. Regular SCR player, Jim Federspiel had some friends over from the U.S. and they came along and gave us a bit of schooling. Left hander Mike playing off 9, led the way with 38 points, while Steve (7) picked up 2nd spot with 34 points. Jim followed closely behind with 33, so it was a good day for the good ol’ boys. Mike also picked up a NTP, along with Jeff & Willem.
Thursday saw us make a return trip to Treasure Hill, where we played from the Yellow tees at a little under 6400 yards. The fairways were in very good condition, although some of the greens were suffering a tad after too much recent rain. Hopefully they will come good, as the course is a good test, and is reasonably priced over the High season. Willem Lasonder (18) was pretty much in a class of his own, score wise, with a handy 35 points, while Jeff Wylie (8) had a paltry 27, for 2nd place. With a small field today, we had no NTPs, although Sam should get a mention for a nice birdie 2 on #6, while he could easily have had a double, just missing on #13.
