PSC 156th Monthly Golf Tournament
Wednesday 9th November at Phoenix, Lakes & Ocean
Phoenix, Lakes & Ocean was the choice for this, the 156th PSC Monthly and it was very well attended with 95 starters (just 1 short of the maximum due to a no-show) on the day with a fantastic rate of 1,250 baht for Green Fee, Caddy Fee plus a free cart. The golf course was in excellent condition considering the recent downpours and all players enjoyed the day.
The weather was terrific with no sign of rain and using two tees we had a later than usual start time of 9.36am and everyone got off on time with no delays during their round.
Golf Chairman Ron Gale together with Peter Blackburn, Gerd Riedler, Mark West, Dick Warberg, Steve Truelove and Marcus Earp arrived at the course early to prepare for the players arrival and the 8.30am Registration commencement. On this occasion A Flight (0 to 12) played Medal off the Blue tees, B Flight (13 to 21) played Stableford from the White tees, C Flight (22 & over) played Stableford from the White tees and Ladies/Seniors played Stableford off the Red & Silver Tees.
The Low Gross winner on the day was Warren Wood (3) who carded a 78 gross.

‘B’ Flight was won by Charly Frost (13) who had 39 points (20 points on the back nine) on count back from Robbie Taylor (14) who finished second with 18 points on the back nine.
‘C’ Flight winner was Otto Schmidt (35) after scoring 40 points.
In the Ladies/Seniors Flight it was Maryke Starink (20)) who was declared the winner after scoring a fine 38 points.
The presentation and prize giving was conducted in the restaurant at Phoenix shortly after the last scorecard had been submitted and the prizewinners had been ascertained and many of the players on the day stayed back for this which was very much appreciated.
Time for the Presentation and Peter Blackburn welcomed all and introduced Golf Chairman Ron Gale who expressed his appreciation to today’s players and those who assisted him at the course and to the PSC office staff for the pre-tournament work..
Peter then announced the winners and Ron & Dick presented the prizes followed by the Lucky Draw for which the prizes were golf balls and PSC umbrellas.
