Links Golf Society 29/02

           PSC Golf …Links Golf Society…Burapha…. “A” and “B”….Sunday 29 Jan…

                          Craig Mitchum’s Big Day Out….. 40 points and a “2”

What a contrast! Last Sunday at Burapha we reported very windy conditions, but this time only a gentle breeze greeted us as we made our way to the first Tee.

As we play here every Sunday the plan is to alternate the courses A+B this week, C+D the next. However, it is always worth asking the Marshal to confirm. Today was to be C+D, but he told us we can wait an hour or go now on A+B.  No debate needed!

Two regular visitors to Pattaya joined “Links” for the first time and were assigned to the first group, Jim Carlson and Gordon Uvanile made up a 3 ball along with myself. We were a happy group and the two newcomers were even happier at the end of the day.

Craig Mitchum has had a few issues with back problems recently and when asked in the morning reported that he felt quite well after some treatment. We need to find out who got him going, because he stole “A” Flight with a terrific 40 points.

That man again ! Christian Boysen came 2nd with a handicap equalling 36 points.

“B” Flight saw a rare appearance by Nick Shaw to amass the second 40 pointer for the day, followed by Jim Carlson with 36 points. First game luck, Jim?

Two outings and no “2s” so the prize had jackpotted to a very nice bundle. Would be nice to be the lone winner. But, as quite often happens after a drought, there were 3 winners of “2s” today, to share the spoils.

The other “newcomer”, Gordon Uvanile, along with Craig Mitchum and Michael Pallesen managed the feat.

The more benign conditions produced some good scores today, well done all.

Back to “The Links Bar” for the light hearted presentations, a really cold beer or two, followed by the tasty complimentary afternoon meal.

“A” Flight …….Craig Mitchum (c/h15)….40 pts

Christian Boysen (c/h8)…36 pts

“B” Flight……  Nick Shaw (c/h19)……….40 pts

Jim Carlson(c/h24)………36 pts

“2s”  …Gordon Uvanile, Craig Mitchum, Michael Pallesen.
