Links Golf Society 27/01
Ray Banks The Top Prize !
Some days you never know… we started with a list of 12 players…then had 2 no shows. As our bus was pulling away, 4 players not on the sign up sheet arrived wanting a game..OK. no problem, they had a car.
We saw them arrive and told them which Tee. As our last group teed off, they were nowhere to be seen. Christian phoned them only to be told that the officials had sent them to a different tee. Now we were back to 10 starters in our comp. Some days are like that…
Khao Kheow is a favourite of most golfers because it is always in great condition, tough, but a fair test of golf. This day we were assigned “B” and “C” courses. A nice blue, dry season sky, but OH, the wind…. It was “blowin a gale” for most of the trip around 18 holes. My caddy had her hat ( bonnet) tied down with some cord under her chin. And after losing my hat 3 times, decided to follow suit.
Most thought the wind was a good excuse for having low scores ( anything will do).
However, Ray Banks managed best of all and won the day, narrowly in front of Christian Boysen off his measly c/h8. If only those putts..oh well..
Always an enjoyable time at Khao Kheow and “Links Golf” will be back there very soon.
Christian conducted the presentations today, sadly announcing there were no “2s” won today, but a nice jackpot going forward to the next game. Well worth practicing your putting.
1st Place….Ray Banks (c/h14)…35 pts
2nd.Place…Christian Boysen (c/h8)..33 pts
