Good Form Wins It For Masaaki
We were once again a small group of 11 players today.A few days ago we had 22 starters. This is an up and down season for sure. Considering the condition of the course, would have expected some good scores.
After some words to management regarding prices advertised and prices charged, in their favour, of course, little was gained and we proceeded to the first Tee. Management needs to proof read information given to, for example PSC, before blaming others for getting it wrong.
Greenwood Golf Course is always presented in great condition, and today the A and B courses were as good as ever.
Fairways are well grassed, but cut to allow good run, even allowing for some light rain earlier in the morning. The greens have been cored and sanded recently, and had allowed true putting with good roll and quick enough to get the ball to the hole.
However, the only shining lights were the Winner of the day, Masaaki Sugaya (19) with a handicap breaking 37 points. In his short stay this trip Masaaki has played well but just falling short. Today was his.
Colin Service has his ups and downs, golf wise, and today was an up day, handing in a scorecard with 34 points from handicap 17 to take the only other spot on the podium.
Bob Watson scored a credible 31 points, followed by 4 players on 30 points.
Best Front Nine (non winners)…..Mike Allidi……18 pts
Best Back Nine ( non winners)…..John Anderson…17 pts c/back
.Winner…………Masaaki Sugaya (19)…………..37 pts
2nd Place………..Colin Service (17)………………34pts
An easy drive back to Pattaya and on to the sorting of results over a tasty Curry and Rice for the Players.
There was a big cheer when “Massa” was presented with the Green Jacket.
Phil could not believe his luck when told who was to wear the “Wig”. Plenty of laughter as he fitted it on the head of Maurice Roberts. Everyone thought that darker colour suited nicely.
LATE NEWS: It is now Wednesday and the PSC rates site has been amended to the prices management insisted were correct. Maybe somebody listened..
