           PSC Golf …Links Golf Society…Burapha…. “C” and “D”….Sunday 19 Feb…

                                    Odd Bedfellows Take The Honours!

The lowest handicap and the highest handicap of the 23 players produced today’s winners. Paul Smith (c/h 5)with a near Par round scored 39 points in the “A” Flight. Maurice Roberts(c/h12) and Laurie McBride (c/h14) rounded out the placings.

At the opposite end of the scale Richard Dobson (c/h30) turned in a magnificent 44 points in the “B”Flight. Following were the ever present New Satita and Michael Pallesen each on 40 points thereby resulting in a countback, which was won by New.

One winner of the “2” competition! He shared the kitty last week, but Paul Smith had it all to himself today.  A good day out for a class golfer..

This day was the turn of  courses C and D in the alternating roster. The weather was fine, a gentle breeze coming during the second nine just to cool things a little.

Somehow we got away on time after Phil’s car had a problem en route, and he and Maurice had the paperwork we needed to start. Got Mogens tickets to him as he teed up. Phew! A close thing.

Many courses are showing signs of drying out and bare patches appearing, but Burapha is holding up well. (Rains coming soon ??). Fairways are good, greens are quite quick and true and the bunkers are still hard to get out of ( for me anyway..)

We now have a new stock of envelopes ( pink ones) to use for the presentation of prizes, and Phil delights in handing them out, especially if he gets one himself..Unfortunately, no pink envelope for Phil today..

Then it was time for a nice meal, compliments of “Links Bar” and  coldie or two.
