Ban Chang Best Forgotten
The Pattaya Links Golf Society visited The Emerald in Ban Chang on Friday, 7th April and, in hindsight, the golfers would have been better advised to stay in bed and savour the week’s previous two rounds.
It was one of those days where the excessive humidity – 99% and rising – damp fairways and slow greens contributed next to no inspiration for the field, leaving most golfers with symptoms resembling a hangover.
For the record the group’s lowest scores ever at the course were recorded with a three way countback needed to determine which of the three 26 point returns should be honoured. Phil Davies should have blushed with embarrassment in acknowledging his superiority over the closing three holes had edged Vietnam Vet Alan Walker into second place.
Still, the beers were cool back at the Links as the golfers dismissed the (non) events of the day as a mere blip on the PLGS radar. After all with Burapha, Bangpra and Khao Kheow all up in the next week better days are most definitely in store.
Winner….Phil Davies (11)………26 pts c/back
2nd Place…Alan Walker ( 23)…….26 pts.
