The Growling Swan 31/10

John comes out to Play!

Just moving away from today’s outing we would like to wish Mike Gosden all the very best, he entered hospital on the weekend to undergo surgery for a stomach complaint. Mike we wish you all the very best and hope that a speedy recovery sees you back on the course in no time!

Also for those who are not aware Gary Monley passed on and his funeral was last Thursday (In Aust) I had a call from Dave Fletcher who attended Gary’s funeral telling me that the memorial video was mostly made up from photos from The Growling Swan with our golfers.

R.I.P. GARY MONLEY.

With all the rain we have been getting one was not sure as to what to expect as we headed out from The Swan. Eighteen keen golfers assembled to take on the ever testing Treasure Hill.

Another perfect sultry day greeted us and with an easier than normal bus trip, we teed up off the yellow markers before scheduled time.

Once again, our compliments are extended to the management of Treasure Hill GC who oversee a fantastic course and have made it available to us at the very good rate of 1,050 THB incl. green Fee, caddie and cart. Well done indeed!

John got out of the blocks early and never looked back taking Top Spot in a very close contest. Coming in second and only one shot behind was our 3 handicapper Sal Brizzi. Then a further shot behind was Glenn Henriksen and Steve Younger with only the count back system to separate them.

We welcomed back (my apologies for missing him last week) The Judge Eric Black, Paul Simmons, John Torre and Graeme Murdoch.

In the photo from L to R; John Anderson, The Judge Eric Black and D-For. D-For is without glasses.

For serious golfing with a dash of fun, the Growling Swan welcomes golfers of all persuasions. We generally play on Mondays and Thursdays at any one of the fine courses around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey for bookings or any information on 086 1503 086.

“They say that you don’t have to be stupid to play here, but it certainly helps”!!
