GROWLING SWAN GOLF REPORT MARCH MONTHLY MUG – “STROKE”.

IRISH EYES WERE SMILING ON —- GERI CRILLY!

Twenty nine golfers turned out to compete for this month’s Monthly Mug. The enthusiasm was high as reports coming back to us was that even though there was a shortage of rain in the area, this course was in great shape. I can say that the feedback was a 100% correct, a great course in great shape (if you handle the greens)

With the journey time now being an hour (due to all the road works) it gave the golfers plenty of time to contemplate todays challenge. As the bus chatter went, well if you were not aware football season was upon us that was all that was discussed on our bus. I guess you just don’t know as to how much you miss it, AFL! Great to see you again.

The weather was hot however a light breeze prevailed which kept our playing conditions quite pleasant. I will not go on about it but all that played made comments as to how well the course played, although scores did not reflect this.

Bill Steinmann showed Div 1 a clean set of heels having a good day with his 68 net, a birdy tells that he missed a couple of easy putts early in the day which could have made a big difference. Div 2 was taken out by the coach Mike Gosden putting 5 strokes between he and second. Then the big story of the day Geri Crilly with a 65 net taking out not only the division but also this months “Monthly Mug”. He ended up 15 strokes ahead of second. Well done Geri you should have waited till next Mug Day as your mate Jockey returns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
