Growling Swan 30/4
GROWLING SWAN STABLEFORD at Pattavia C.C. – 30th April 2018.
Martin took the “Game On”
The rains hit Pattaya early in the morning and unfortunately it caused some panic, the result being that we had 4 pull outs. Unfortunate that people do not understand it may very well be raining in Pattaya but at the course it can be and normally is different! In 6 years we have lost one day due to rain!
Anyway, so it was a field of 12 that set out to the “Old Pineapple Plantation” or now known as Pattavia CC. Well it was great to see that there was no rain about and if they had had any it did not affect the course as such. Carts were allowed on course which excited our group.
With a small group we were to play 1 division only with all novelties in play!
It was Martin Kempton that took the chocolates beating an improved Gary Williams via the count back system. Both golfers returned 37 points with Martin having the better back 9. For those who are not aware our count back is taken on the last 9 played as an example if we are to play B & A in that order well the c/b is on the A 9.
Results for Pattavia
1st Martin Kempton (13) 37 points.
2nd Gary Williams (28) 37 points.

With second place Gary Williams came out on top for the day!
Back at the Swan we welcomed back Gary Williams, Peter Bricknell and Glenn Smith who had returned From Aust where he and the lovely Yokie traveled across the Nullabour from Perth to Melbourne on a Harley Davidson! What a great trip, it’s a wonder that either can sit down yet!!!!
And with no one departing we had no need to bid farewell.
Once again D-For collected many donations from the golfers and the punters in the bar, for the needy children of Pattaya. Watch this space as we have paid for yet another project for a school that did not have water on tap (so to speak). It’s something like that, that we take for granted that may very well change a child’s or a family’s way of life!
The GS is a friendly golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers male and female to have a hit at any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested on 0861 503086.
In the Photo we decided to reflect. Mike Gosden, known as the coach to many, lost his battle a few weeks ago, He took care of a lot of golfers, me being one, but if he did not like you you never got back in his good books. Known to DQ many golfers he was a stickler for the rules.I would go so far as to say “That nobody” knew the rules as well as he did. Mike you are missed by many I am just glad that you got to see your beloved Tigers get one more flag. I was disappointed that you saw the “Aussie cricketers and the Ball Tampering” Conversations we had showed me just how upset you were about that.
MIKE YOU WILL BE MISSED, R.I.P.
