Growling Swan 30/01

The Big Men Make Big- Mick Johns & Andy Zwart Do Good!

Twenty one players arrived at The Growling Swan with an appointment to take the trip up Highway 331 and take on the very popular Greenwood GC. Not sure as to how he trip will pan out as “Road Works” are nearing completion!

We played C & B nines, from the White tees and at 6,200 yards (approx.), we had plenty of run but it still made it a tough day for all. The course was in very good condition (as always) and the green’s played as they always do, fast and tricky! The weather Gods were on our side with a slight breeze and no chance of rain.

With twenty plus players we were playing 2 divisions Div A was 0 to 18 and Div B was 19 +.

Mick Johns showed the way with a very good 40 points in Div. A he was followed in By Keith Buchanan, with Tom Berry filling the third spot on the podium.

Div B saw relatively new golfer Andy Zwart return an impressive score of 41 points, this being his best with us so far. One can remember back to his first shot with us at this very same course. Actually he never lets me forget it. Second in was Tiziano Dal Pastro with Lorrain Percy filling the last spot.

Back at the Growling Swan, we welcomed back Marc Robinson, Andy Zwart, Tony Berry and Cav Kenyon. With no farewells it was into the cold ones as the stories started to flow faster than the beers were flowing.
