The Growling Swan 29/09

Stuart Brown take his “1st Monthly Mug”

As it happened!

It was a turnout of 29 enthusiastic golfers that were here to play for The September Monthly Mug, two full buses and numerous cars headed out on time.

We departed The Swan for the one hour plus trip up the highway to Greenwood Golf Club. The trip seems to be getting quicker, as the road works must be nearing completion. I would like to think that Greenwood will continue with the fantastic deal that they are running at the moment.

Weather was in our favour, given the rain that we have been getting, it turned out to be a rather hot day with little or no breeze to report. The course was in great nick although early in the day the greens were a little slow. We played courses B & C from the Yellow tees. I do believe that the last two groups did cope the rain!

Stuart Brown took out Division 1 and The September Monthly Mug, beating Sal Brizzi by the count back system. Third and fourth places were also decided by a count back, with Paul Hack taking third placing from John Davis.

In Division 2 Fred (Boris) Cuypers took out first place 3 shots clear of John Anderson, Niall Stuart and Sandy Leiper all returning with the same scores only to be separated by that famous count back system.

D-For was yet again let off his chain collecting for the needy of Pattaya, we have had great success as The Growling Swan Golfers and Patrons do so well in donating. To all, pat your selves on the back as you are all good at it!

The GS is a “friendly” golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers, young and old, male or female to have a hit on any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested in playing on 0861 503086.
