GROWLING SWAN.

PATTAVIA – Thursday 28th of March 2019.

“MARCH MONTHLY MUG – STROKE.”

By:  PRH Grey.

“Steve Younger etches his name in history winning his 4th Monthly Mug!”

It was the changing of the guard, on the 26th of April 2012 The Growling Swan played its first game of Golf and it was for the Anzac Day Medal. Ironically there were 3 golfers that played on that very first day that had saddled up to play today. Dick Braimbridge, Andrew Allen and Takeshi Hakozaki. Another two that had played on that first day but did not make it out today (but were in the bar) were Stu Rifkin and myself. A lot of water has gone under the bridge in that time and a lot of golfers have passed thru our doors. I have to say most are golfers that come back when they are in the country Twenty golfers set out in two buses and a couple of cars was the requirement to deliver us out for today’s challenge.

Pattavia Golf Course, or fondly known as The Pineapple Plantation, was today’s venue for our Mug Day. This is a course that is on our radar to play every month. It is a good course that is priced sensibly and not one that inflates the pricing for the fictional High Season. The course was once again in Tip Top condition! Fairways were excellent, bunkers were clean and raked and if you ask most golfers the greens were a little slower than normal.

Weather played an important part in today’s happenings. The cloud cover offered us good relief, but when the cover moved it was quite hot. We took the course on from the yellow tees.

One flight only which saw Steve Younger take the game with an excellent round of golf. Steve’s round of net 63 not only won him The Mug but gave him his 4th Mug. Now if memory serves me right that puts him at the top of The Leader Board of Mug Winners!

Second home was Sean Millar, still struggling with a bad back (as he keeps reminding me) he had an extra round returning with a Nett 66. Third and fourth went to the count back with Takeshi Hakozaki having had the better back nine finished third with Patrick Poussier filling the last spot on the podium.

RESULTS FOR PATTAVIA.

1ST Steve Younger (13) 63 net.

2ND Sean Miller (31) 66 net.

3RD Takeshi Hakozaki (12) 67 net.

4TH Patrick Poussier (28) 67 net.
