PSC GOLF REPORT.
KING NAGA G.C. – 24th December, 2018.
“Kissy is Back, and takes the prize in a count back.”
I would like to open this report somewhat differently. Today we had what one could call a real winner come into the bar! Just after we returned from golf Mike Johns called in to say hello with us and wish us all the best for the festive season. For those who are not aware Mike has battled Cancer, undergone treatment and is now clear of the dreaded Big C. He looked well even though he had lost a lot of weight.
Mike as I said yesterday, on behalf of your Growling Swan family we are all so happy to see you and see that your possitive attitude has or is helping you thru this.
Now back to golf………….
Well we had fourteen turning out today to beat Santa in our third last game for 2018.Our challenge today was to be King’s Naga, this course has a cult following either you love it or you hate it. I personally believe that it’s the club house (Change rooms and showers in particular) that people do not like, as the course itself is quite challenging! If only they would inject a little in to the facilities.
We attacked from the white tees (app 6700m) this is a little bit longer than what I am used to but a promise is a promise Dave! The course was in not to bad a condition, it was a little dry in places but overall the fairways were fine. The bunkers were tidy and had been raked. The Greens were as they always are at this course a bit on the slow side for me!
Tee off was 10am and I think we got away about 10 after, not a big deal. There were three groups in front of us, they were a bit of a hold up but whats the hurry we have all retired!
One flight only for the day and we included all the novelties.
Keith Buchanan fought off a challenge from Dave Maw both returning with 32 points, so off to the count back we went with Kissy getting the nod with the better back nine. Returning in third spot, and the final place on the podium was Colin Stielow only the solitary shot from the pace.
