Growling Swan 21/9

Pattaya CC – 21st September, 2017

Ian Ward & Tony Cook Win!

A even group of 20 golfers headed out to Pattaya Country Club, a course we have not played for quite some time. Sunny skies with a slight breeze made conditions good for scoring. Front nine of the course was in great nick, however the greens on the back nine were a bit disappointing. Word was that they are cut too short and suffered damage. Hopefully they can recover quickly.

Welcomes were handed out to Aaron Dykes, Ian Ward, Bill Copeland and Glen Henriksen. Farewells was handed out to Jayson Schembri who is heading back to Melbourne after a 4 month stint in Pattaya, and Jerry Dobbs who had a short stint here. The Jocks liver will be glad to see both head off. We wish them both safe travels and of course we hope to see them both real soon!

There was two Divisions and today in A Grade Ian Ward came in with a solid 37 points to win easily by 3 points from Aaron Dykes who accumulated 34 points and claimed second spot from playing partner Steve Younger who had 33 points.

B Grade was won by Tony Cook who had his best round for quite some time with 37 points to win by 4 points from Alex Field who snared second spot from Mashi by way of a countback.

Back at the Swan we enjoyed a big batch of chicken fried rice, washed down with ice cold liquid refreshments.
