Growling Swan 2/11

CRYSTAL BAY – 2nd November, 2017

The Mudgee Magpie takes care of The Swan!

We had a cast of twenty two but unfortunately on the big day only nineteen came to play!.

The weather was sultry bordering on being muggy, there was a slight breeze making conditions somewhat bearable. We played B and C Nines in that order (B nine was used for the count-backs). The course was in real good nick greens slick on the front nine, going from the yellow tees but struggled against some power hitters from the yellow tees.

With numbers being at 19 only 1 Division was required.

It was Darren Slade that took control from the first, he returned with 41 points taking the top spot from Alex Field via the count back system. Coming in third was JJ Harney with JC Lhoste taking fourth position on the podium.

1st Darren Slade. (13) 41pts

2nd Alex Field. (19) 41pts. Alex lost on a c/back

3rd JJ Harney. (13) 35pts

4th JC Lhoste. (28) 34pts

B4 Darren Slade

B6 Gordon Clegg

C4 D-For

C7 Bill McGarvie

Long Putt:

B9 Tony Cook.

A9 Darren Slade.

Back at the bar we welcomed Nam and Darren Slade, Bill (Shooter) Mc Garvie, Robert Pearce and Mick Powell. We also welcomed back Peter returning from his holiday in Aussie. Its always nice to see new faces and extra nice to see old faces returning! There were no farewells!

D-For (our charity collector dog) was delighted to receive many donations and the players are and patrons are thanked for their continued generosity.

Back at ‘The Swan’, cold beers were flowing and of course the story tellers came to life, and the more beer consumed the better the stories are.

The GS is a friendly golf outlet and welcomes golfers of all persuasions. Male or female we accept you all. As stated to one golfer, “You don’t have to be silly to play here but it definitely helps”. We generally play on Mondays and Thursdays at any one of the fine courses around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey for bookings or any information on 0861 503086.
