Pleasant Valley – Thursday 19th May, 2016
Steele rises to the occasion!
We had 21 eager golfers ready to board the buses to tackle Pleasant Valley, 3 golfers were heading out by car to join us for a day’s golfing. Well what happened on the way is any bodies guess at 9.10 I rec a call asking me “Where is everybody, we are the only golfers at Pattavia, shit we should be at Pleasant Valley” We had 21 eager golfers!
This Golf Course improves with every new visit, fairways were in good condition, although in places there was water on the track it played to most golfer’s satisfaction. We went from the front tees, which given the amount of rain that has been soaking all the courses lately resulting in very little run was the smart choice of the day. Greens were still traveling a bit slow. But that is normal here at The Valley
This course is definitely improving as the years go by and with the very affordable golfing prices, friendly staff and caddies all eager to help, it would be no surprise to see this course frequented by us again soon.
We had 3 golfers come in with a tidy score of 41 points, Denis Steele (41 points) taking A flight (on count back) from Alex Field with Graham Rice taking out 3rd. Ernie Picken with his 41 points takes B Flight with Lindsay Slender and David Allen filling the other 2 spots on the podium.

Back at the Swan we welcomed new comer Joe Marschke and with the farewell of Russell Calcutt we were left with plenty of time to get rid of a few cold throthies. As usual Thursday brings us a meal complements of the Swan.
Once again Alex Field set D-For off the chain to collect donations for the underprivileged from Pattay. This dog has collected much needed funds to help the less than fortunate of Pattaya and surrounding areas with tens of thousands of baht having been injected over the past few years to several institutions or needy families via the PSC.
The GS is a “friendly” golf outlet and caters for and encourages all golfers, young and old, male or female to have a hit on any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested in playing on 0861 503086
LAWN BOWLS
The Growling Swan also caters to the bowls enthusiasts. Bus transport departs the GS on Sundays at 10 AM when they go for open, grass bowling at The Retreat. The cost including return bus transport, bowling fees and a hot lunch is about 350 baht, so great value for a day out!
