The man with the “Gallery” did not disappoint his fans. Rudy the Champ!

With a 10.00 am tee time scheduled, we headed out to Burapha Golf Club with 15 eager golfers, a far cry from Mondays crowd.

Certainly now people are starting to take notice in regards to “High & Low Seasons”. Golf has become a level playing field and the courses that are making the money are the courses that are pro-active and responding to the number of golfers that are available. Some courses are doing this while others are just going along as they did 10 years ago and put prices up to cater for the influx of tourists whether they are there or not.

Today we were to play One Flight with 4 placing’s, along with 4 Near Pins and 2 Long Putts. We can increase this if we can increase our numbers! We played from the White Tees and invoked “Lift, Clean and Place” as carts were not allowed on the course with the water that was about.

This writer believes that if a course is to not allow carts on course golf societies should be notified so the players that have trouble walking can make the decision to play or not play. I would like somebody at PSC to address this and advise what can be done!

Out of the Blocks were two golfers that, at the half way mark, both shared 18 points. As they were in the same 4 ball all looked set for a good old fashion shoot out! Alas the petrol tank of one golfer went into the red earlier than expected, the other soldiered on and went on to win the day. They, of course, were Rudy and Jockey, well done guys and in particular to Jock who has not hit a ball since he left us a couple of months ago.

Rudy Regenass returned to the scales with a fine score of 39 points, hard to beat on that course in those conditions. Second past the post was Evergreen Mashi, with The Jock holding out Gordon Clegg from third via our count back system!

After our refreshing showers we elected to bypass the club house hospitality and headed back to the Swan for our well earned refreshments and presentations.

Our host Peter Grey welcomed Ray Cody, Peter Bye, Peter Wiltshire and Shane Young. We bid farewell to Peter Wiltshire and Ray Cody, thanks guys for joining us we do hope you enjoyed our company!

D-For was the happy recipient of many donations for the needy children of Pattaya and the golfers and punters are thanked once again for their generosity.

The GS is a friendly golf outlet that caters for and encourages all golfers male and female to have a hit at any of our weekly outings. We generally play Mondays and Thursdays at one of the many fine golf courses in and around Pattaya. Please contact Peter Grey if you are interested on 0861 503086. Or call into the bar and put your name down.
