The Growling Swan 10/10

George McEwan and Patch take out the Quinella!

Twas only 12 golfers brave enough to take on the challenge of Plutaluang, or as we know it Big Navy. The course was in good nick with the greens being slow for the first hour, but as soon as the sun was out the greens did a 360. There was a threat of rain but that passed as quick as it arrived. Fairways had little run so we chose to invoke Pick clean and place as the recent rains had left water on different parts of the course.

We saw George McEwan take the game by the throat and come in a comfortable winner from his mate and sparring partner Graham Laurie, or as we know him Patch. Patch had threatened that he was going to win money as he did 2nd, a near pin and a long putt. Taking out 3rd place was Steve Younger a couple of shots behind.

The fact that the field was small certainly had no reflection on the golf that was played and the people who played

We had nobody to welcome but we took the opportunity to say goodbye to a few that returning to their home countries, Andrew and Lah Allen, George and Lorna McEwan and The Colonel Alan Sanders. We wish you all a safe and prosperous journey and hope to see you all soon!!
