Growling Swan 10/04
PSC GOLF REPORT – GROWLING SWAN
Greenwood – 10th April, 2017.
“Tony Cook Hits the Big Time”.
Again the numbers are still down and I have to say Songkran is certainly the main reason for this. Anyways we had an eager bunch of boys and girls keen to get out and have a hit at Greenwood CC.
We played A & B nines, from the White ont tees, as usual the course was in great condition the fairways gave a bit of run whilst the greens played as they normally do on this great course. The weather was quite warm (as it should be this time of year) with no rain is sight but, as the day got longer the lack of breeze made it somewhat uncomfortable. On the return to The Swan we greeted many red faces and that had nothing to do with scores, more to do with lack of sunblock. A lot slept the journey home.
With a small field we were to play 1 Division only which made the day very competitive. It was Tony Cook who came up trumps returning a score of 36 pts. He tipped out Alex Field via the countback system. Third home was Peter Bailey finding his way to the podium yet again on this trip.
Winners at Greenwood
1st Tony Cook (27) 36 pts
2nd Alex Field (16) 36 pts On a count back.
3rd Peter Bailey (16) 33 pts
B5 Keith Buchanan
Long First Putt:
A9 Tony Cook
B9 Tony Cook
